It has advantages if you're the type of person who has a hard time choosing what to eat at each meal and you don't feel like you have time to cook for yourself so much, so having to only cook one big meal is definitely easier, and you can focus more on trying out new recipes, finding healthy food, and take time to enjoy that one meal you have.

I'd say it all depends on how you use and execute it. Was easier for me as i'm muslim so i already was used to dry fasting. It's all about what your goals are, but it's a great tool, I think, specifically for females who are interested in leaning out but don't care too much about gaining mass or strength. The issue with OMAD at this body composition is that eating a significant amount of protein makes you really full for a short of time, and then you get hungry/cravings later on.

I do a lot of strength training and I have a particular aesthetic I want that makes OMAD less desirable. I've gained and lost the same 70lbs several times over the course of the last decade or so. Usually my OMAD used to be a decent salad with a bunch of different veggies, under 1000 cals, with some brisk 1.5hr walks daily. I've used OMAD primarily as an opportunity to restrict my calories drastically and lose a lot of weight. It can be very effective for the most part, depending on what you're eating and what your goals are. I've done it here and there for a couple months at a time.
